Washington Nationals OF Hits HR Off The Field For Little Leaguer

The Washington Nationals' play on the field has been atrocious all season, but they hit a home run off of it.

Joey Meneses signed the ball and sent a note to the little girl.

A Nationals fan wearing a Juan Soto jersey (which could partly explain his poor attitude) went viral earlier this month when he was caught snatching a ball outfielder Joey Meneses tried to throw to a little girl and he intercepted it.

The video was posted by parent Gina Hilliard on Twitter, where she pleaded with the team to send her daughter a new baseball to her daughter Avery which was signed by Meneses.

Hilliard is reportedly also a team parent for the Shenandoah Rec League Babe Ruth 10U All-Star Softball team in Virginia.

Days later, the team reached out to get her information, and on Tuesday, Sept. 13, the Nationals offered an update, showing that Meneses had come through with the signed ball and a hand-written note.

“I’m sorry you didn’t get the ball I threw to you,” Meneses wrote. “I wanted to make sure you got one, so I hope this signed game ball makes up for it! Hope to see you at a game soon!”
